She loved to chase the waves, barking playful barks as the cool water tickled her paws. But there was one thing Dhana wished she could do: dive deep, deep down like the fish she sometimes saw darting under the surface.

One sunny afternoon, Dhana decided it was time. She took a big breath, closed her eyes tight, and plunged her head into the water. Splish! Splash! It wasn't quite a dive, more of a enthusiastic face-plant.

On one of her underwater explorations, Dhana bumped into something hard and green. "Oof!" she thought, shaking her head. When she opened her eyes, she saw the most peculiar creature she'd ever met.

Why this matters

Pupsona is built in loving memory of Dhana. She was my best listener, always there for one-sided conversations that somehow never felt one-sided. I often imagined her sassy comebacks, what she'd say if she could text me, or the secret adventures she was having while I was away. These little daydreams became stories, and those stories became a source of comfort after she crossed the rainbow bridge. Pupsona is my way of turning that love and imagination into something others can share — a way to strengthen the bond with the animals who give us their all.
